Europe and its discontents

CefES International Workshop. 2pm, Building U6, 4th floor, Sala Rodolfi

Europe generated many benefits to many people but also great discontent within its borders. This conflict of interests might put at stake the main goal of the European project, which was essentially to improve quality of life for all Europeans. The Center for European Studies (CefES) aims to provide a forum of discussion to both Economists and Political Scientists interested in the current debate on Europe.

Speakers:

  • Maurizio Ferrera (Università Statale di Milano): “Reconciling Economic and Social Europe”
  • Andrew Moravcsik (Princeton University): “All Bark and no Bite: Why Populist Foreign Policies are Doomed to Disappoint”
  • Gianmarco Ottaviano (Bocconi University): “The Economic Geography of Discontent in Europe”
