The Department of Economics, Management and Statistics of the University of Milan-Bicocca invites expressions of interest to fill a position of Full Professor of Macroeconomics.

This position is a first step in the process of strengthening the research and teaching area in the field of Macroeconomics. Priority will be given to outstanding candidates from the international academic community, with an established track-record of publications in leading international journals, and ability of research leadership and project management. High quality teaching is also expected.

The Full Professor position is full-time and tenured, with a teaching load of 120 hours/year. The new hire will be part of a lively and intellectually stimulating research community and will have access to excellent research facilities.

Gross salary will depend on seniority: if no further tax exemption applies, in the first two years it is about € 75,000 per year. In such a case, the net amount after taxes depends on total personal income and family composition and can vary in the range between 2,900 and 3,300 euros per month on average. Note that a 90% tax abatement of the taxable base is available according to the Italian tax law for those candidates who have been residing outside Italy for 2 years or more and move their tax residence to Italy. When this tax exemption applies, the net salary per month can increase to as much as 5,000 euros after tax per month on average. This benefit is applied for 6 years, which can further be extended in some cases.   According to the Italian university rules, applicants should have recently obtained the appropriate National Scientific Qualification (ASN), hold an equivalent academic position at their current university or otherwise qualifying for a "direct call" if working abroad.  DEMS is an equal opportunity employer.

The Department is devoted to promoting high quality research, seminars and conference activities, with the aim of contributing to the national and international policy debate.
