The Department offers Visiting Scholar positions to junior and senior scholars holding a PhD who wish to pursue research in the fields of Economics, Economic History, Management, and Statistics.

Visiting Scholars are expected to contribute actively to the Department’s research environment by residing full-time at the Department, conducting their research project(s), engaging in scientific interaction with faculty members and research staff and attending departmental seminars and academic events.

Visiting Scholars are not required to undertake teaching or administrative duties. However, they are normally expected to present their research in a departmental seminar during their stay in Milan.

Applications are accepted for visiting periods of at least one month. A limited number of fellowships, covering accommodation and travel expenses, may be awarded to scholars visiting for a minimum of three months. The availability of funding depends on the applicant’s academic profile and on budgetary constraints.

Applicants are invited to propose research topics that fall within the areas of expertise of the Department’s faculty. Priority will be given to candidates willing to develop joint research projects with Department members. Candidates are therefore encouraged to contact potential hosts directly prior to submitting their application.

Applicants must be affiliated with a recognized academic or research institution.

• a curriculum vitae;
• a brief research proposal (maximum half a page);
• an indication of the requested period of stay.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.
