Department of Excellence

What are the Departments fo Excellence?

The Departments of Excellence represent an innovative intervention with substantial financial support provided by Law 232 of 2016 (2017 budget law). The intervention aims to identify and finance, on a five-year basis and within the framework of the 14 CUN areas, the top 180 Departments of State Universities. These are Departments distinguished by the quality of their research output and the quality of their development projects, with an annual budget of 271 million euros allocated to them.

The DEMS (Department of Economics, Management and Statistics) has been selected among the Departments of Excellence for both the 2018-2022 and the 2023-2027 periods. Below are the most relevant details regarding both projects.
